Italian Restaurant Hobart: How to Cook Your Own Super Easy Spaghetti Bolognese   by Chris

Do you love Italian food? Can you absolutely not get enough of going to Italian restaurants to experience scrumptious Italian cuisine? Have you been feeling the pinch lately and want to taste those same meals at home? Well If you love Italian food your in for a treat because I have created a number of super easy Italian recipes that you can make make at home, super easily. And the one your going to learn today is:

Spaghetti Bolognese:

This has to be one of the most commonly loved Italian dishes, and the good news for you is, it’s so easy to make!

Ingredients (For the Non-Chefs among us, what you’ll need)

-500g Mince

-500g spaghetti

-whole onion

-can of tomatoes

-small can tomato paste

- clove garlic

-your favourite seasoning

-Parmesan Cheese (if to your taste)


-Chop the onion and garlic and place in a large frying pan. Cook on high until onion is soft

-Once you have softened the onion, add all of the mince. Now we will do what is called browning the mince. All you do is break the mince into little pieces and cook until brown, stirring every minute or so.

-When the mince is cooked, it is time to add the tomatoes and tomato paste. Just pour the contents of each can into the pan and mix in well. Now also a good time to add any seasoning you would like. I terms of an authentic Italian taste, you can byuy a premade mix of Italian herbs off the shelf at your local supermarket

It is important to note, that if at this point you realize your frying pan is not big enough for all the sauce, don’t worry, we’ve finished frying so you can shift everything into a bigger saucepan.

-Now all that is left to do is let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes which is just enough time to cook the spaghetti pasta. So turn the sauce down to low, because when simmering we only want the sauce to gently bubble, we don’t want a vigorous boiling.

Then fill a large saucepan with water and place it on high. Once the water is boiling, throw in the spaghetti and you can also add some salt to the water for a little added flavour. Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain away the water, replace it back in the saucepan and melt some butter over the top (this will help stop it forming a big clump when it starts to cool down)

Now take the sauce off the heat and Congratulations, your done! You can then serve it up with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top, and event finish it with a garnish of parsley if you like.

Now don’t forget the last but most important step where some people fail. Sit back and enjoy your meal.
